Hydrometeorological Numerical Modeling
We combine numerical models and artificial intelligence to study and predict the water cycle, urban flooding, surface runoff, river discharge, and the mechanisms and forecasting of extreme rainfall and flood events.
AI Weather Models
We develop generative deep-learning-based AI models for weather assimilation and prediction, improve model architectures, and study multi-scale weather and climate forecasting.
Deep Learning Methods
We build physics-informed deep learning frameworks integrating Transformers, diffusion models, and CNNs for downscaling, bias correction, data fusion, and time-series prediction.
About NJUHML
The Hydrometeorology Research Group (NJUHML) is affiliated with the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University. The group is based on the Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University and is led by Professor Huiling Yuan.
Our research focuses on hydrometeorological numerical modeling, AI weather models, and deep learning methods. Projects are designed around the group-wide research agenda as well as individual interests, and are developed through weekly group meetings and regular one-on-one discussions.
